Asbestos Industry Expresses Gratitude To Ray and Mavis Nye With a Commissioned Oil Painting

Colette Willoughby (Chair of NORAC) and Andrew Paten (Co-Founder of UKNAR) presented this specially commissioned oil painting to Mavis & Ray for the Mavis Nye Foundation and presented it to yesterday on Thursday 24th August.


This gift is on behalf of the asbestos industry is in celebration and gratitude for all the amazing and inspiring work they have done over the years. They both absolutely loved it.


We expect this painting to continue to be displayed publicly in the coming years as a reminder and an inspiration to us all and future generations. With much love from everyone.


Andrew will be bringing the painting to the British Asbestos Awards event so that more people can see it for real.


With the painting gets its first public viewing at the British Asbestos Awards held on Friday, 1 September awards organiser Ben Chambers stating the following: “We are delighted to be able to showcase what is a beautiful oil painting of two very inspirational people who I have enjoyed being in company with many a time. It is my honour to be able to have the painting displayed at the British Demolition & Asbestos Awards this year.”


The painting will then be handed over to Craig Evans, UKATA COO for its next stop in the UKATA’s Head Office.
